Our Kind of Dancing

I have been looking over many of the Rumba clips in You Tube. Beautiful and very nice exhibition stuff but in most opinions, don't do it in a night club or social dance function. Ordinary dancers frown on such antics.

"The truth can be a heavy load, therefore few care to carry it."

Why do you think we have such an overwhelming amount of hits in our Blog and Web sites dedicated to the not-to-be-seen type dancing? It is a different type of dancing. One is cultural and goes back quite a way mingled with street dancing. The other was manufactured and promoted by outside influences for different purposes and fairly recently.

The International/exhibitionals are doing just fine, where they are at, we can accept that.  They insist that Ballroom belongs to them and we agree, but it is not where we are at. No Hu Hu. just understanding. Fortunately for them there are many social clubs that function with the sole intent to promote their kind of dancing, and they certainly have the right.

They insist on their way which is definitely not ours. And we insist on our way which is most surely not theirs. Can we separate amicably and each one go our own way? Many clubs still think that both can exist amicably. But take a look see and there they are, the rootzi-tootzis, plain as day. The rest of us junk dancers can just go someplace else.

Meanwhile we can establish some sort of sameness in our type of social-cultural dancing in most of the social dance clubs. We can reduce the snooty faction on either side and reconcile it with what some of the same type of dancing done in the night club scene. This will result in an awful big portion of the dance crowd on this island and we can enjoy every minute of it, - our way.

Pub's Side Note: To our reader/dancers, please consider yourselves, now and henceforth, and no matter what anyone ever asks of you, free to do any damned thing you want as long as it doesn't hurt someone else unnecessarily.
